What you can commission.

Four things, each defined as a deliverable rather than a retainer. Cross-border work has too many variables for a list price, so we quote against a scope. What is included and what is passed through is separated in every quote.

Live performance

Taiko, dance, and ceremonial staging, scaled to the room you actually have. We build the piece around your venue, not the other way round.

What you receive

  • Programme design — repertoire, running order, duration
  • Performers, contracted and travelled
  • Sound and lighting design, plus operation on the night
  • Stage devices where the piece needs something that does not exist off the shelf
  • A technical rider your venue team can work from

Who commissions this

  • Event agencies producing a Japan-themed evening
  • Hotels and resorts with a resident programme slot
  • Festivals with a modest stage and a real budget

We scale down honestly. A small courtyard piece is a different design, not a shortened version of a large one.

Ritual staging and direction

The lighting, sound, and spatial design that lets a ceremonial form land on an audience that has never seen one. The form does not change. The stage does.

What you receive

  • Direction and spatial design for the space you have
  • Lighting and sound design
  • Custom stage electronics — devices that light, move, or open on cue
  • Rehearsal and technical documentation

Who commissions this

  • Museums and cultural institutions
  • Theme parks building a permanent or seasonal set piece
  • Immersive theatre producers

We do not stage Shinto rites themselves, and we do not invent ceremony that does not exist. Where a form is real, we say so and cite it. Where a piece is our own composition, we say that too.

Interactive artifacts

Objects that carry a hidden mechanism — a keepsake that opens later, at home, or years afterward. Amulets, souvenirs, seals, packaging.

What you receive

  • Concept and visual design for the object
  • The mechanism: rub-to-reveal, angle-dependent print, embedded code, or near-field electronics
  • Whatever digital side the mechanism needs, built and hosted
  • Manufacturing sourced, or specifications handed to your manufacturer
  • Fulfilment tooling if the object ships

  • Retail and merchandising teams at cultural venues
  • Hotels producing a room gift that is not a tote bag
  • Anyone whose souvenir currently ends up in a drawer

Digital for cultural institutions

Websites and social presence for shrines, temples, museums, and festivals. Built to be handed over, not to keep you dependent.

What you receive

  • Site design and build, in Japanese and English
  • Source-checked writing — we cite, and we mark tradition as tradition
  • Structured data, sitemaps, and the rest of the search groundwork
  • Ongoing operation if you want it, handover if you do not

Who commissions this

  • Institutions whose site was last touched a decade ago
  • Organisations that need a bilingual presence and cannot staff it

Domains, servers, and accounts are registered in your name. When the contract ends, everything stays with you.
